    Popping and "tearing" in audio during various things


    Winversion is 1909 build 18363.900

    I recently rebuilt my pc entirely and the specs are updated on my profile "system 2".

    I have noticed since I got a pair of headphones that go directly into the 8mm jack on my motherboard, that I get popping just doing normal things. Watching youtube, playing games, listening to music, just normal activities and it pops randomly throughout. Previously I was using a pair of Razer kraken Chroma 7.1's that plug into usb only. I now have a pair of sennheiser's.

    I tried googling this and following the instructions to lower the bit rate to cd, and turning of application control, and checking power settings (which i dont think apply to desktop? but i did it anyway), and some other things and nothing is working.

    I downloaded this app called LatencyMon and it saying that I have some problems with my system but I honestly have no idea what im looking at. I dont even know which screen would be helpful or if its helpful at all!?

    [1] Do the headphones work OK on another computer if you have got one to test them on?
    [2] Are you sure there is not a break in the cable?
    [3] Did you run WU for any available drivers?
    [4] Did you change them in Manage sound devices?
    [5] Did you check the Default Audio Device settings?

    Can you please perform the following [ this checks for ANY Problem Device Errors ] . . .

    [1] Goto this TenForums link => Batch Scripts / Programs.
    [2] Goto the heading Find ANY Problem Devices . . .
    [3] Download and Run the .bat file.

    If there are ANY Problem Device Errors it will create a Prob_Devices.txt file on the Desktop!

    [4] Upload the results => How to Upload and Post Screenshots and Files at Ten Forums.

    I have been extremely busy with work and not at home. but i havent forgoten about this and it is still an issue
    I will do more tomorow perhaps, sorry

    yes they work fine on other devices

    there isnt because i use the same cable on other devices

    windows updates doesnt show anything

    Did i change them to what settings in manage sound devices

    It is set to the default device yes.



    When i run the batch it says "path not found"....

    You are the first person who has ever had a problem with this!

    My script extracts information from the msinfo32. The Microsoft System Information Tool [ system32 directory ] generates information about hardware configuration, computer components, software and drivers etc. If you can't run the batch script then there is obviously a corruption in your OS somewhere. The path not found means that the msinfo32.exe is not in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo folder.

    Can you please check this folder and see if it present?

    Does Latencymon show you have problems when the headphones are not connected?

    If so, it would be wise to get to the bottom of it, but using the Windows performance recorder is non-trivial.

    Try searching the forum for WPA, Latencymon, Windows performance recorder for example threads and screenshots to get an idea.

    Ok so im like completely stupid when it comes to software stuff. Im not really sure what youre asking me to do?

    1. I will run latencymon without the headphones connected but i do not have any other audio devices other than these headphones.

    2. What am i getting and idea of exactly? I get to search the forums sure, but im not even sure what im supposed to be looking for in the screenshots? Sorry if this is obvious and im being silly. And thank you so much for your time and patience.

    Yes i disconnected the headphones (meaning that no audio device is attached) and it still is giving me a heck ton of red.

So after the most recent Windows 10 update, my sound started acting up. At first, the front headphone jack didn't even work anymore. I reinstalled my Creative Sound Blaster Z driver and it started working again. However, another problem persists....
