New Dell server has a few sound issue.

I just purchased this refurbished Dell server with Windows 10 Pro installed. I have a slightly older monitor, so I had to use a Displayport to HDMI conversion cable to connect them together. Originally it didn't sound bad, although with this monitor does sound "tinney" even before I connected this system to it. Now with the volume at 100% on the system and video clips also at 100%, the volume is barely above a whisper.

The other issue I've had since day one, is the inability to plug headphones into the front of the case and have the monitor sound shut off automatically while being able to listen to my system using headphones. Suggestions?

    Robot Check

Link to the Amazon page with description. Now, I have been able to switch it up and can plug my headphones in, but I have to turn off my monitor. That's okay, bit of a hassle to go into setting every time I want to plug in, but not that bad. What I'm still having issues with now is the volume at 100% from the monitor is barely audible. Like when i turn on a box fan to help circulate the central air a bit better. When I do that, can't hear my monitor at all, even with the fan on the lowest setting.

FWIW that is not a Dell "Server". Just a desktop computer. The Optiplex line is sold by Dell as a "business" system.
