Hello, the forum prompted you to specify your Windows build so we don't have to keep asking. Could you do so?

I'm still using build 1903 and do not have this problem.
Are you using an Insider build?

    Elementary diagnostic steps:
Create a new user for test purposes. Log in as that user. Do you see the same problem?
Please perform a clean boot (Google is unsure how or see tutorial in Tutorials section) and compare what happens.
Disable all non-MS shell extensions using Shellexview (free). Compare what happens.

it's the most recent update that most ppl use, w/e that is
People use 1903, 1909, Insider builds various, and there are various updates which people may or may not have received.

The forum asks for you to use
    Win key + r, winver

so we don't have to keep typing all this. It gets tiresome... hope you understand that.

I suggested some things to try.

Are you referring to left, right click or both? (They do different things).

    See:
Windows 10 Taskbar Volume Control Icon does not Work >> Winhelponline
2 or 3 possible ways forward. Does Fix 2 help?

I've not seen this problem reported before myself, though plenty seem to have experienced it e.g.
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...b7a040e?page=2
    - some posts refer to installing a version of the Realtek driver if that's relevant.

Hi, I suggested some elementary things to try in post #2.

Then I referred to the Realtek driver issues some have reported in my next post.
And I quoted a Winhelpline post with a couple of possible workarounds.

    Have you investigated these?

where does it 'prompt' you on forum, i dont see anywhere
This is what you should see when creating a new post:
clicking on audio/volume icon does nothing after you restart-1.png

Copy and paste text works for me for text.. if you are referring to not being able to copy from what's shown by winver, that's because that's not copiable text. Not all text shown on screens is copiable using CTRL C for various reasons.

I use a free program called capture2text which handles optical character recognition in various languages for this- useful when people provide screenshots of error messages- which can't be copied for search purposes.

reinstall audio, last time restarted pc, it didnt work/fix it
    will try again

added 'version' to profile thing, that's prob best way of how anyone should do it
