Need help with NUC Windows 10 Displayport audio please

    I have a NUC 8i5BEH with Windows 10.0.18363 Build 18363.
    I have a Dell Ultrasharp U2719DX 27-Inch WQHD 2560x1440Monitor.
The NUC is connected to the monitor via the Display Port, not via HDMI.
In Windows device manager it shows Audio Input as "Dell U2719DX (7-Intel Display Audio".
When I first installed windows 10, sound worked fine.
After updating windows and loading the latest Intel drivers for my NUC, I rebooted and the sound disappeared.
It still shows the same in device manager and in Sound Settings, but no audio.
If run the same setup in Mac or Linux, sound works fine.
It would have to be some type of Windows or Dell software issue I believe.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks
    Len

    Hi and welcome!

Right click on Taskbar speaker icon, Open Sound settings, scroll down to Advanced sound options and check for outputs and volumes settings:

Here is a screenshot. As you can see the device shows correctly, but even though I have Chrome Browser open, it is not listed under apps. And still no sound.

Also as you can see in this screenshot, in the Properties window, under Jack information, it shows HDMI. But the monitor is connected via my NUC thunderbolt/usb-c output to the displayport input on the monitor.
Also I reinstalled Windows 10 and I had sound after the install, I loaded the Intel graphics and audio drivers and rebooted and sound was still good. I then loaded the last recommended driver which the name of the driver had I/O in the title. After I rebooted, sounds was gone.
    Does that make any sense?
    Thanks!

It seems that last driver has problems so, you have to uninstall it. I don't think problem is on your side.

Have you tried to Settings / Update and security / Troubleshoot / Playing audio ?

For sure, after latest driver installation nothing seems to work right.
If Windows native driver works good, you may stay on it.

Unfortunately, I don't have any thunderbolt experience so I can't help you any further.
