Headphones don't work after being unplugged and reinserted.

Hi everyone. I'm Ray, I've just joined the forum. I have recently bought a new laptop (Dell Inspiron 15 1553) which uses Windows 10. I don't know what I've done and I'm sure my headphones worked ok when I first used them. The problem is that I can get them to work by doing a WIN FIX using my ASC Ultimate13.2 software and then restarting the laptop. If I then unplug the headphones and plug them back in again the system does not recognise them (stating that the headphones are unplugged). The sound comes through the laptop speakers. The good news is I can fix it by doing a WIN FIX and restart. But as said if I then unplug the headphones and reinsert them they don't work. It's a bit of a pain having to do a fix each time and I know this can't be right. I've tried updating drivers to no avail, It says I have the latest driver. So I am asking if anyone else has had this problem and managed to fix it permanently. Hope someone can help.

I would suspect the ASC Ultimate is the culprit.
Please verify the model number, I do support on the Dell forum but 1553 model is not found.

Your PC uses Realtek audio and the Waves MaxxAudio app. First, you need the Dell supplied Realtek driver for your specific mode. Second, for proper jack detection you need the Waves MaxxAudio app.

Considering the ASC Ultimae may have tweaked or deleted something you need (and you don't really need a tweaker, system fixer, etc as they usually cause problems) I would suggest not using this.

CLICK ME for the Dell downloads for the 5593. Recommend you download and install the Realtek sound driver and the MaxxAudio app, even if you still have them installed.
