Stereo mix for mic audio or something else - help please

so my issue is that i am trying to use my android phone as a webcam and stream the audio and video from this, I am streaming free music to help people stay safe at home.

I am using OBS and IVCAM to set up the phone as a webcam

However in order to use the mic from the phone to capture the music and stream it Ive been told to use Stereo mix for windows 10.

I have a Toshiba laptop and it is not listed as 1 of the recording devices in there.

    So my questions are :

how and where do i install stereo mix from?
is there a better way to do this than i am describing?
should i use the latest realtek drivers listed in the top of this page?

    TIA Bart

Hi, you can't simply download it. It's a question of whether your hardware and audio driver now support it or not.

    One thought was:
The stereo mix was disabled probably on purpose by the influence from the RIAA to prevent recording from licensed sources like Internet radio channels
    - back in 2007
Stereo Re-mix thread (was T61/p Sound Recording?) - Thinkpads Forum

There are articles with a range of supposed 'fixes' but if your PC simply does not suport it, well, that's tough.

Note how this refers to using a much older audio driver:

Then there's this program (not free) that claims to make it available (which you can download!):

I seem to recall some have said this free program can help (Virtual Cable):

And if you find no other way, then see:
    Stereo Mix Not Supported

Stereo Mix lets you record audio output from your own computer. It’s an easy way to do this but you can still record audio output even if the option isn’t supported on your system. All you need is a sound recording app that can record audio output without relying on this feature. You can use Audacity or Freecorder, both of which are free.
