How to permanently remove B&O audio control...

Is it possible to permanently remove the B&O audio control app from an HP laptop? The app on my computer rarely opens ("B&O cannot connect to RPC"), in the app specifications I read that it occupies 0 bytes, and even when I update the Realtek drivers, the app opens only until I next reboot the computer. My version of the B&O app is 1.8.203.0, whereas I've been told that I should have version 1.9.212.0., but I cannot update it.

There is an uninstall option which I have tried, but the app quickly returns again, not updated, and occupying always 0 bytes. For a brief period this morning I DID manage to uninstall the app, and I noticed that in the Control Panel I had Realtek Audio, and in the 'recording' section of the sound settings I saw that there was 'stereo mixer', which I had been searching for a few days ago; I need this function to share audio on Google Meets.

Anyway, I'd be very grateful if some knows how to get rid of the B&O app.

    Florio.

You can update your B&O app by going to Microsoft Update Catalog, search realtek 2020, download the latest software component cab file. One single cab file contains all 3 software components. Unzip the file, copy/paste into empty folder, update the "software components" in device manager, then run Microsoft Store to update the app.

Try this if you are still having rpc issue.

Realtek Audio Console REQUIRES a Realtek HD (UAD) Driver!!

Just tried your suggestion. In each case, I was told that the PC already had the most recent driver installed.
Will now check out the link you sent earlier...

Did you download 1.0.0.243 realtek software components from Microsoft update catalog?

Did you update the SOFTWARE COMPONENTS under SOFTWARE COMPONENTS?

Okay, have done that properly now! Three of the drivers were updated, but there was no update in Microsoft Store. Still version 1.8.203.0. In the specifications of the app, there's always App 0 bytes. The B&O app does open for the moment, but I bet that tomorrow it will not.

Found Bang & Olufsen file (CAB) which I have extracted, but am not sure how to update the app. I just ran the application file but it has made no difference.

The 1.0.0.243 has the b&o file. It is just a skin for the Realtek app.

Forgive my ignorance, sandyt, but what should I be doing now? The current situation is that the B&O app is opening, but has not been updated (at least the version number is unchanged - 1.8.203.0), and there is no Realtek audio console in the Control Panel. I seem to be going around in circles. I'd be quite happy to remove definitively the B&O app if it were possible.

Your b&o app IS the Realtek audio console -- just with a different skin.
