Bang & Olufsen cannot connect to RPC server...

I have an HP Envy laptop with B&O audio control. The computer is working well, but yesterday I wanted to change some audio settings and so I went to open the audio control only to see the message given in the title of this thread. So I cannot access the audio console (enhancement, equaliser etc.)
I cannot find help anywhere. My post to HP forums has gone unanswered. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all audio drivers, I have updated the BIOS, and I have updated Windows. B&O does not appear in the list of installed programs in the Control Panel, so I cannot uninstall and/or repair it. In any case, I don't know where I would have to go to install a newer version.
Thought I would post here since someone may be able to lend a hand...

Go to Microsoft Update Catalog, search for realtek 11.0.6000.754.

Download the cab file, unzip, copy/paste all the files to an empty folder.

Go to Device Manager, go to software components, update the various realtek and B&O software components by pointing to the newly created folder that you just pasted the files to. Then run Microsoft Store to update the B&O audio control app.

    Many thanks sandyt,

I actually managed to fix the problem before I read your reply, but the solution was practically the same. I updated the Realtek driver from the HP site (previously I had deleted and reinstalled only from Device Manager), and this time it worked.

I spoke too soon. A short time ago I saw that the original problem had resurfaced! This time I followed your advice, sandyt, but when I tried installing the cab file, I was told that the newest version of the driver was already installed.
I cannot find/update the B&O audio control app in Microsoft Store.
I feel that Windows updates may have originally caused this problem, but I wouldn't know which one. Any other suggestions?

After you updated the software components and then run the Microsoft Store, you should have 1.9.212.0 B&O app.

Okay, I've found the B&O audio control app. in the Microsoft Store; the current version is 1.8.203.0. I'll try installing the Realtek drivers from the Microsoft Update Catalog again. There are 13 different files for Realtek 11.0.6000.754; which one should I download? The top one? I have Windows 10 x64 version 1909.

Update: Installed Realtek drivers yet again, and the problem was once more resolved. But then I had another Windows update (KB4541335), and I was back to square one!! Repeated the entire procedure another time and the B&O audio control app now opens. I've noticed, however, that the version remains 1.8.203.0.
Do you think that if I uninstall the B&O app and then reinstall it, I'll get the updated version? According to the Microsoft Store, the app is free (presumably for HP computers), but I'd hate to uninstall it and then not be able to reinstall!
If I cannot update to the latest version, I bet that the problem will reoccur after every Windows update?

Do NOT uninstall the app, you will have problems getting the app back.

All the 13 files basically point to the 2 different download files. Pick the slightly larger one.
