Unable to change line in settings to a headset

At somepoint I accidentally set my line in settings to remember that I'm using earbuds, now I've got a headset with a microphone and I cannot change these preferences anywhere. I've tried looking all over the places I know of and after a number of google searches, I still haven't found anything that would work. Would anyone know how to fix this?

Hello, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Normally, setting the default sound input device like in the tutorial below will allow you to set your line-in settings. You might check these settings to see if it may help.

Thank you for for the response but it's not the setting up that is the problem, it's the detecting that it is a headset rather than just earbuds. I remember when there used to be a pop up that asked what I just put in to the aux jack. I accidentally clicked the "remember this" button and confirmed it. I do not know how to change this so that it detects that it's a headset rather than just always earphones.
