    Microphone Automatically Mutes After 10 Minutes


    My microphone automatically mutes itself around every 10 minutes when it is being used by an app (Discord) or in-game. I would then have to either close and re-open the app/game or would have to disconnect and reconnect my headphones.

    The issue does not stem from the headphones because I have tried them on a friend's laptop and faced no issues, and the mic also works error-free for hours on end if it is not being used in an app or game (I checked this from the "Sound Control Panel")

    I tried re-installing the drives multiple times, tried re-installing Discord multiple times, tried turning off the energy-saving options - nothing seems to work. I have been facing this issue for over a year now and I try to fix it every once in a while but fail. I'm hoping that this forum could help me in finding the solution

    Windows version #1903. I will provide screenshots and/or any other data anyone asks for. Thanks!

    Hi I would try updating windows to the latest version 1909.

    Thank you very much for your recommendation, I thought my OS was up to date since it does update occasionally.

    I updated to 1909 and tried connecting to Discord again, mic muted within 10 minutes, nothing changed. Please do let me know if you have any other ideas or recommendations. If you need screenshots or anything else, please do let me know.
