Asus Tuf FX505DT Laptop Audio Bug - Windows Version:1903(18362.720)

I just bought this laptop a few days ago. It comes with a NVIDIA GTX 1650/AMD Radeon Vega 8 for gpus. It was working fine then today the laptop wasn't picking up my headphones when I plug them in. It shows Speakers (RealTek(R) audio) and nothing else. I go to sound settings and plug in my headphones nothing comes up. It shows NVIDIA High Definition Audio Not plugged in

I've tried uninstalling my gpu driver and reinstalling a older one. Did not work. Tried updating all drivers in device management and they are all up to date.

Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

It shows NVIDIA High Definition Audio Not plugged in

That Is because you don't have an HDMI cable plugged in to use the Nvidia HD Audio AFAIK....

Personally I would run the Factory Reinstall of Win 10 ( F# on Boot ..maybe? check manual) since the computer is new , if it still doesn't work return the LAPTOP and get another. as it likely a Hardware Issue.

When I open the app "Dtx Headphone" my headphones seem to work. It still shows "speaker" is being used on my sound settings even when I have headphones plugged in.

Do you think it's still worth re installing win 10?

Thanks for this ^, I feel dumb . I never had a HDMI headphone and wasn't sure what this meant.

The HDMI Audio is for when you use an HDMI Cable to your TV or a Larger Monitor...not Headphones

If everything is working after all ...not need to re-install Win10 , then again if Asus uses a Boot recovery partition it takes about 15 mins to make it "factory fresh" , then you can install your programs and games again.

You can also "Reset Win 10" with it touching your Data...... tutorial is right here on 10Forums if you need it.

asus has an FAQ too :

    Thanks again for replying!

It seems to be working fine for now. But if it doesn't find my headphones again and seems to not work I will just do the reset. It's so much to download only reason i'm putting it off. But thank you again

Also another update. I tried using the extra ram slot in my laptop with both ram sticks I have. My Laptop wouldn't boot up and only had a black screen. So I am guessing it has something to do with the ram slot? I am so confused

Returned the samsung ram and bought (Crucial 8GB Single DDR4 2666 MT/s (PC4-21300) SR X8 SODIMM 260-Pin Memory - CT8G4SFS8266 ) the 8gb ram crucial recommended me after I ran their website scanner. They was sold out on their website, but I found the same exact one on amazon Robot Check

Hope this works and it was just the samsung ram stick that was inapplicable with this laptop... , really need this for this laptop to be a little bit quicker since I am working from home since the Corona crap going on.

edit:whoops wrong threadh sorry for bumping
