    Ae-5 z906 issues

Im confused to what is going on. I recently purchased the AE-5 replacing my x-fi fatality gamer ive used for years. I have used this card with my z-5500 for about a week using analog. My z-5500 being so many years old had the buzz from the console so i purchased the Z-906. When im using analog 5.1 I get this weird distortion from the front speakers.. It works fine using optical. I thought maybe the speakers but they work fine connected to my onboard audio with no distortion so it has to be something to do with soundcard.. Why didnt i get it with the z5500's and i do with the z906.. I included a video. this is what it sounds like analog mode.. Does anyone have a fix for this.. Would love to use 5.1

Do yourself a favor and check out this thread - Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 - Driver Issues (Update: Much Improved)

And do us a favor and explain you terminology. Not everyone (me) knows what a Z-5500 or Z-6-906 is. And the only reason I know about the "Creative" AE-5 soundcard is cause I was looking at it.

Anyway do realize not everyone is familiar with just model numbers. Z906 could have just as easily been a Chevy Camaro, or Goodyear tires.

    Thanks.

You're taking it personally. What the point of my post is was that there's a specific thread dealing with your specific card, and specifically on drivers.

As for knowledge in helping.... you own the systems and you're asking for help. so....

And I own a customized sound setup attached to my which includes both USB DAC and Audioengine powered speakers so sorry if I didn't know the model number of Logitech speakers

And BTW... My thoughts on Creative’s X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro. Yeah... I know a thing or two.

    Peace:)

    Z906 speakers

Normally with UAD Realtek onboard sound you would set to "Stereo" setting on Realtek Audio Console , and use "3D Stereo" console setting in Z906, to obtain sound on all 5 speakers.
I use this method on Z906 speakers.

I would think this is the same for a sound card .

Ordinary internet music available does not allow for 5.1 sound. There are web sites however specialiasing in bespoke digital and 5.1 film track and pop music extracts, which I have experimented with.

The distortion might be too high sound setting on Z906 Logitech console.

Using the analog 5.1 shouldnt be a issue but even with it turned on 2.1 this is what happens. Everything works fine using analog both through motherboard and my old xfi fatality card

It sounds like you got some ground loop issues.

Then it has to be in the card itself because my xfi fatality soundcard has no issues. I already started the return process with creative.
