    Sound (lack of)

Hello all. I woke up today with no audio on my computer. A little background: After years of making do on Windows XP, in 2019 I found a local PC tech guy who made house calls to repair and/or upgrade. I asked him to install Windows 10. After picking up my comp, he later called and said it was so old it was impossible. He offered to sell me a newer, used comp, and then transfer all my files from my old PC and then install Windows 10.
Everything has been fine. Till today. When I go to device manager, then Sound Video Game Controllers, the only thing that comes up is High Definition Audio Device. Would this be my Sound Card? When I click High Definition Audio Device, then click Driver, I see Microsoft issued, Driver Date, Driver Version-10.0.18362.356. Below that I am given options, among them is Driver Update and Uninstall Device.
I have been reading today that upon uninstalling my Sound Card(assuming the above described is my Sound Card) and rebooting my computer, Windows will automatically ask if I want to reinstall my Sound Card. I have never done this before so I am a little fearful of what will happen'
I can tell my speakers work, and have tried to Restore my system to a recent previous date, but for some reason the process does not complete. I would appreciate any instructions that could lead me back to sound. I am obviously not the most tech savvy person. One more thing, when I go to Settings, then System, then Sound, at the top, in red, is written, "You Need to Activate Windows before You can Personalize your PC. I am assuming this was because of the way I acquired Windows 10, as mentioned above. Thank you all very much for reading this. Jackson

Your PC might not have a genuine Windows 10 license. About the sound card issue. Yes, uninstall it and let Windows reinstall it upon reboot.

Thank you for responding Xaccell. I just need to know if an Audio Driver and a Sound Card are the same thing before I uninstall. I do not want to uninstall a something other then a Sound Card.
