I spent the last 3 days trying to find a standalone EQ that was easy to us. Nope. I tried NCH Desk FX & APO along with Viper ( an APO front end). Followed all instructions and nothing. So today I tried again as even tho I have Logitecth nice desktop speakers along with a subwoofer all songs sounded muffled. BOTH Groove AND Media Player have an EQ built in but hidden pretty well. With Grove : look in the bottom left corner for the gear icon - click it and there it is EQ. But it is beyond weak - like 5 bands. Now open up Media Player. When open you have to right click on your mouse and there it is under Enhancements. Explore as there are a lot of great tools there. But wait - also go to More Options - again at main screen right click to get to more options and tons of great options for ripping, burning ,playback & more. Why MS chose to cripple Grove and hides all the good stuff deep in Media Player is nuts to me but now you know. And to those trying to install Realtek Media Manager don't bother unless Windows installs it. I tried and killed all my sound ( I don't have a realtek sound chip in my Asus MB.
Any Windows 10 Equalizer audio programs
Peace - set and forget. No need to leave it running unless making adjustments.
This is the convoluted way I get to the equalizer on my 2012 Dell XPS 8300 Desktop/

Enhancements Tab (at top)
Equalizer (click on square)
Settings none ... (click on three dots) and equalizer appears

Somewhat confusing GUI- too many options?
the issue of "no equalizer" in Realtek Audio Console or Realtek HD Audio Manager is also discussed here on github
I was experimenting on using Dolby Atmos on my Gigabyte board using a UAD driver and instead of using the HDX_GigabyteExt_RTK.inf file, I re-installed the UAD driver with a modded HDX_GigabyteExt_DOLBY_RTK.inf file and I get this result
the Realtek EQ & environment options are gone as shown in the pic
someone there in github came up with a solution to the "no realtek equalizer" problem that I was having![]()
