Hello @mopebi, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You can turn off the Microphone system icon on the taskbar notification area.

You can also enable or disable the microphone itself on demand. Option 5 may be good for a programmable option.

I'm not sure about the microphone icon, but you can enable or disable the microphone itself on demand. Option 5 may be good for a programmable option.

    Hello, and thank you
the microphone disable/enable isn't the issue
I should simulate "Taskbar Settings > Taskbar > Turn system icon on or off"
and need to turn on/off showing the icons, I haven't to do it from registry, if there is any other ways I can try them
but now I were able to do it for speaker, network with registry value, but for microphone there isn't the value name in internet...

If Microsoft did their programming correctly, then there shouldn't be a simple registry key. That would be security by obscurity for an issue that has been illegal to record a conversation without the other side's consent for DECADES.

I would certainly hope that Microsoft would not be that stupid to implement this by way of a simple undocumented registry key.

    Hello,

Yes, they will automatically be recreated. This is part of resetting the notification area icons like in the tutorial below.

The feature is a nice idea but very badly implemented. There should be a way to define which device actually is your microphone, but it seems it considers "all" input devices as microphones.

My elgato hd 60x requires the setting "listen to this device" to be enabled to hear sound through your speakers/headphones from what you are capturing from. When this option is turned on it will trigger the "app is using your microphone" even though it isnt a microphone.

All Microsoft needed to do was add a tickbox in the sound applet which you would tick it if the device was a microphone, anything unticked wouldnt be detected by this feature, they could tick it by default if the device has microphone in its name. I wonder if they improved it in Windows 11.
