Head Phone or Ear Wioks

I am wanting to be able to listen to my tv using some kind of device so that my wife will NOT complain about me have the sound on the TV too loud.

I don't really care for head phones. I prefer what I call an ear wick which are soft sound devices I can insert in to my ears and listen.

BTW my recliner is about 15 feet from the TV. There are two different sound plug-ins on the back of the tv; a single out plug output and a double plug output.

Any suggestion would be helpful.

Thanks Dude. I had looked at Amazon an was leaning toward the below Avantree long cord Headphone (ear wicks).



These are $14.99. They are 12 ft cords (not quite long enough), but Amazon has extension running from 4ft to 20 ft. The prices are not too bad. ($10 or less).

I may check out Tiger Direct also.

how about some wireless noise cancelling headphones !!! If your TV doesn't have blutooth cheap blue tooth transmitter available - just plug into headphone socket on TV -- set to TX (transmit) and pick the signal up on your cans.

(these senders can also use the optical output).

You'll need to ensure that TV can "dual" audio output to both the headphone socket and the TV's speakers (or sound bar if you are using those).

I bought a set of wireless noise cancelling headphones for almost the same reason. When I used to work, sometimes the hours were quite irregular and my wife would be sleeping when I got home. I bought a high-end set on sale at Radioshack and they sound awesome. They have an external plug-in BT transmitter that came with a 3.5mm-1/4" stereo headphone adapter.

I can also use them when she's awake and making noises too.
I also prefer cup-style headphones to keep outside noises from disturbing my listening.

If you prefer ear-plug style, you may find them with BT for a somewhat reasonable price. I tried the wired and it drove me nuts. Your mileage my vary. Cheers

"Baby screaming Soundproof" on planes, trains, buses etc --QC 35 Bose noise cancelling headphones (wireless) -- better than the new ones (QC 500's) from Bose - especially as those new ones have the stupid software that requires you to login to some hideous app to activate the phones.

The QC 35 's just use normal "Blu tooth paring" -- why on earth Bose changed a winning combination to the disaster of the current software I just don't know.

Anyway the QC 35's are still available --best "Baby proof" sound system yet if you are on a plane with --"...You know what --these days you aren't allowed to say it -- like gender neutral restrooms !!!!..."

These things though aren't cheap but if you travel a lot IMO worth every single penny, eurocent, US cent, kopeck etc etc.

Maybe I'm getting a bit too picky but I find these days Public transport is just getting "Too public" with people not respecting each others spaces --was on a train from Brighton to London ( in the UK) recently -- only 2 people in the carriage which was highly unusual for that type of trip -- the other passenger was a big woman screaming into a mobile phone with a voice that a bootcamp army officer would have been proud of yapping the whole journey (around 55 mins) about problems with her bowels and kidneys ---I always now take noise cancelling phones on any sort of public transport.

In all my travels though the UK is by far the worst for people yammering away loudly on mobiles and having those incessant keyboard clicks and mobile pings when they get emails / texts -- 100% zero respect for other passengers.

LMAO, I hear ya jimbo. One of the many reasons I prefer the 22 hour drive to North Florida, versus flying coach class or is that farm stall class. LOL

It's not called "Cattle class " for nothing !!!!

I found though Canada much better in that regard with respect for other people's space and privacy.

Ancient FM - Commercial-free Mediaeval and Renaissance Music

OK not everyone's taste but I think it's great.

Unless you fly out of some of the more North-Easterly International airports where the local men tend to stink er exude a perfume-like scent more than the women folk.
