Windows 10 Conexant Driver not showing Line-in option

I am using a Lenovo G50-45 and have tried several ways to fix this, including everything I've been able to find posted online. I have downloaded the most current driver from the manufacturer's website, I have updated the driver, uninstalled it and restarted windows to reinstall it, uninstalled it and deleted it and reinstalled the fresh copy and even attempted to install a Realtek audio driver, which apparently, this version of Windows or the Lenovo config will not allow. I have also turned off the enhancements and a few other things. At this point, I'm wondering if there is a Windows 10 guru out there who might have some idea what is causing the problem. I've also considered a fresh install but it looks like I'd have to buy a copy at this point: I installed Win 10 when it was a free upgrade. Thanks in advance for any help you might offer. Unless you have a different way of using the troubleshooter, please don't suggest that since it was the first thing I did. thank you in advance for any help

    Joe
