Sound Properties under Realtek Drivers Missing Enhancement Tab

    I have Windows 10 64 bit Ver. 1809 (OS Build 17763.737)
and during the drivers update for Realtek, the Enhancement Tab is missing in the sound properties. Can this be due to motherboard issue or that is, drivers not compatible? I would rather have the older drivers like in windows 7 installed as closely to possible as windows 7 because it was better by far and i don't know why or what the analysis and all the details therein that are involved, i just know that for the pro media Klipsch speakers i have, the sound Isn't the same.
At any rate, about the enhancement tab if there's any ideas or suggestions, thanks a lot.

Technically, the enhancement on and off is now under Advanced.

And the individual options are in the Realtek Audio Console app.

That's where your Enhancement options will be available only, leis & sandyt.

only traditional/legacy Realtek HDA (nonUAD) drivers will have the Enhancements tab options. Realtek UAD drivers will not have it - that's one limitation of using UAD drivers [take it from my experience using such drivers].

If you really want that Enhancement tab to appear, uninstall the existing Realtek UAD drivers, reboot and switch to using traditional Realtek HDA drivers if your machine can support non-UAD based Realtek drivers.

EDIT: All this referring to HDA driver versions. The UAD stuff won't work for me because I don't/won't use Windows Store. But even if I did, it still requires Nahimic for effects...and that is a great big NOPE!

I have been searching for a solution to this problem for many months now. My board is an MSI B450 Gaming that uses Nahimic (I will not use/install that trash) to handle "effects". All drivers after around 6.0.1.8308 simply will not show any effects at all without Nahimic even though the 8308 and older ones had the default effects built into the Windows and Realtek driver control panels without installing any 3rd party garbage. Yet on my Gigabyte board, they all still have the effects with all drivers. Same Realtek chip, same driver.

So all I can say, especially if your board supports Nahimic or something like it, is try an older driver. 8228, and 8308 work for me, and both sound as good as anything since.

I think you can direct your complaints to MSI for removing or blocking the Realtek EQ & environment effects for most of their modern gaming boards & laptops like your B450 gaming board when installing recent HDA (nonUAD) drivers. next motherboard purchase that you get better not be an MSI brand board, Quexos.

I also use a Gigabyte board (a GA-78LMT-USB3 R2 rev. 1.0), that uses HDA drivers and the Realtek EQ & environment sound effect options are available, even when using the 6.0.8799.1 FF00 HDA driver on there.

Quexos, I remember your posts and I completely don't understand it.

You don't have to turn on all the nahimic effects. And all you want is loudness equalization and EQ.

Are you telling me that realtek's EQ is somehow a thousand times better than nahimic's EQ?

It is about the algorithms used. It is just like the argument about best speakers and audio components. This brings up this little tidbit. Audiophoolery

To let you in on something. Everything is moving towards apps for all OS platforms. Audi DSP technology changes and improves because the algorithms get better. If all that you want is loudness and EQ, invest in external hardware tools for audio processing.

Here is how audio processing in real life sounds like. It is an example of the tools that he is using, do not do anything different than the similar device that processes the audio input to output. Audio processing is only as good as what the mfg of that processor can do to give it an edge/hype over the other. Raw processing like the built in Realtek works better than over-processing with the same tool from somewhere else. YouTube

Thanks for the info. concerning those drivers. Can i ask you though, in that pursuit, i've tried this and it's apparently incorrect in what i try to do because even when i attempt to uninstall the realtek for what i believed was non-UAD it somehow re-applies the UAD drivers even if it's in a different version! And it will grief-out if you try to swap the drivers while the others are in place as the typical tag of "the proper" drivers are already installed or something to that effect:)
So, i was trying to do just that to get some HDA drivers to satisfy my hankering on going back to windows 7 drivers i keep saying was better. This computer's new and i replaced the older one and so it's already preinstalled windows 10 etc..and so, i'm also probably needing to get educated more on what the processor if it has anything to do w/that end of it, i mean as far as the sounds and the Bios etc....(?)
Thanks for that idea though, it's or it sounds "traditionally" more familiar to me. :)
