Volume icon keeps disappearing even after I fix it via HideSCAVolume

As the title says, the volume icon keeps disappearing from the tray bar!

I know what the fix is - to re-enable the volume icon at the tray bar from the settings,
though this button is grayed out in my case, and the fix for it is changing the value of "HideSCAVolume" at the registry from 1 to 0.

I keep doing it every 1 week or so, but I don't know why this "HideSCAVolume" keeps getting set to 1 (every 1 week or so)!

    Anyone can assist?
Do you think it has something to do with bluetooth headset which gets connected every now and then?

    Thanks!

Hi, tried out a bluetooth headset recently- no ill effect.

Clearly Windows history of this problem shows there is some vulnerability here, but nothing so far points to any specific cause, other than perhaps driver-related issues.

If you look at your Update History towards the bottom is there any indication of failed audio driver updates?

What is the model of your PC? Is an older (e.g. pre-Win 10) model or more recent?

You could run a program to monitor the registry key and alert you to a change... then you could consider what just happened.

Is it possible there's some scheduled task..? How regular is this event?
