How do I connect an old chassis' front audio panel to a recent MoBo?

HPOUT-R --> PORT2 R
HPOUT R --> PORT1 R
GROUND --> AGND
HPOUT-L --> PORT2 L
HPOUT L --> PORT1 L
MIC GRD --> AGND
MIC IN --> MIC2
MIC POWER --> MIC PWR
The rest can be left unconnected and the setup will still work .
A Foxconn TH-001 chassis and an Asus PRIME B350-PLUS motherboard.
With one connection it sort of works. But the connection detection doesn't and I only get audio if the layout is not set to 7.1.
Otherwise I get audio on both the back connector and the front panel.
The back microphone doesn't works so the microphone might be connected wrongly.
Otherwise it seems like the bios/driver is bugged.
Thanks. Though I tried all these. It just works buggily apparently. (Until I figured out it does produce sound if I switch away from 7.1 it seemed to not work at all)
No clue how to fix it, if it's at all possible. The asus driver wasn't updated for a long time for win7 (8), nor was the Realtek driver, which doesn't even work as "well", since the sound manager gui fails to even start.
HPOUT-R --> PORT2 R
HPOUT R --> PORT1 R

HPOUT-L --> PORT2 L

* MIC GRD --> Hardwire to the only AGND pin you have
MIC IN --> SENSE1_RETUR
** MIC POWER --> SENSE2_RETUR
* Uncover a little metal from both wires and tie them together and connect only one of them
** Alternative scenarios in case not working :
- MIC POWER --> SENSE_SEND
- or MIC POWER --> NC (No Current and hope SENSE1_RETUR sends enough power)
- or drop the MIC case and think merry thoughts to yourself
P.S : According to your mobo pins the audio card is only 4 speakers capable i.e 4.1 , for the setup to achieve more speakers output (ie 6.1+) it will cancel all other input jacks (mic and line) and turn them into speaker jacks regardless of if you have a MIC detected , i suggest you set the driver to stereo output for your MIC to work along
