    Weird blip sound with Realtek Alc1220A

    Hi,

    I have been looking for a solution to my audio problem for days now but wo any success.

    I get this strange ,,blip" sound before audio feedback in most programs, games, films etc, for example;
    when I move and click on Win sound volume slider, when there is new sound line introduced or when there are small cuts between video clips or when I am pausing audio/video etc.

    It kinda sounds as if something is turned on/off or amp gets reactivated/behind.
    it goes like: blip-sound starts----sound ends--blip (tho quieter at the end)

    Im using z390 board with alc 1220A + win 10.

    I sorry about my bad English but perhaps someone could help me?

    Hi,I also currently experiencing the same issue.Logout or reboot will fix the issue, but it will occur again after some time.I tried to reinstall Realtek driver, but still not fixed.I also tried different headphones to make sure the problem is not from my headphones, fortunately, it is not.
    Changing the audio quality, disable audio enhancement, etc (like internet says) will also not fix this issue.I have male to male 3.5 jack and tried to record from direct output audio to line-in, the blip or crackle sound does not record at all on the recorded sound. So I believe it's either board issue or windows issue.

    Download and run the free (and popular) Resplendence Latency Mon. It may help to determine what is causing this.

    I have Realtek, on my recording studio desktop PC and on a Dell gaming laptop and do not get that on either.

    Latencymon does not show anything unusual, there are no spikes and everything seems to be performing well with no delays.
    To reproduce the problem it is usually enough to click at random point on Win 10 volume slider and then by sliding it from 0 to 100 and back while holding it down down and activated. You could hear electrical crackling or something similar to it.
    By just clicking on the volume tab and letting the confirmation sound to be presented plus making new adjustment without letting the sound to be finished, it ends with blip/popp.
    Same goes in Youtube videos, mp3 music files in, games (not so noticable) etc.
    Here is an example: YouTube and YouTube

    Refresh Realtek. Uninstall Realtek in the Device Manager, DO NOT uninstall the driver. Restart Windows and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall it. I've seen this procedure fix a lot of problems, if lucky it will fix yours.

    Unfortunately that did not fix anything. I still get that blip before actual sound plays.
    I start to think that is an issue with all Realtek devices, its just most dont notice it or think that its normal.
    Did you watch the videos I posted?

    A quote from another forum;

    ,,The problem I am currently running into is that I receive popping noises as well as crackling and what I believe are buffer underruns.

    I can reproduce the pops by changing my sound volume with the slider. At the beginning of the windows sound I get a pop and the sound plays. If I let the sound play I do not hear a pop when it ends. If I end the sound by clicking on the desktop and closing the window a pop will sound when the audio ends when the window is closed.

    If I'm talking in Discord the discord mic open/close sound will play fine but when the person starts speaking and stops speaking there is sometimes a pop.

    When moving around a video on YouTube or other sites and clicking in various points in time in the video a pop will sound before the new audio starts playing""

    Z390 board from whom, Rottmeister? [asrock, asus, gigabyte, msi, etc. - which motherboard maker?]

    I have not experienced nor encountered the weird blip sounds on my Gigabyte board (a socket AM3+ board) using Realtek ALC892 & Win10 v1809; note that my board has a very different realtek audio chip than yours.

    I wonder if the power plan has anything remotely to do with this.
    Set the power plan to "High Performance" and see if that makes any difference.
