    Audio only plays from speakers when selecting or testing headphones


    So i don't know if that title made any sense but I ran into a very complex problem that I try my best too explain using the screenshot below. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drives and what not I'm truly at a lose here I don't know what to do Audio only plays from speakers when selecting or testing headphones-untitled.png

    have you tried resetting your default sound device to the headphones?

    My headphones that are not even plugged in are marked as default communication device and it wont let me change it

    Try these 2 things:

    (1) disable the sound card (not just uninstalling and reinstalling), reboot and then install new drivers
    (2) clean the connectors with a qtip (like how some smartphones are stuck in headphone mode and fix using this method --- youtube videos)

    I tried both did not work but I did find a temporary fix if I open OBS and set my audio capture device to the communication headphones then my speakers work fine but only when OBS is open

    Then it is OBS having problems not releasing the audio inputs and outputs back to the operating system when you exit OBS. Try uninstalling OBS.
