    laptop not detecting headset microphone

I recently bought a new headset with a microphone and I can hear audio through the headset but
my mic is not detected and it is still using my default Realtek computer microphone.

I've tried looking for hidden microphones but there are none.
I've re-installed my Realtek HD Audio driver.

    But nothing seems to work.

What should I do to fix this?

Allow your Windows 10 system and your application to access your headset microphone before you can use it. Go to Settings --> Privacy --> Microphone and click the Change button, then make sure Microphone for this device is turned on. Make sure Allow apps to access your microphone is turned on.

Head over to Control Panel --> Troubleshooting --> Hardware and Sound --> Recording Audio.

    It couldn't identify the problem.

I tried the troubleshooting the Realtek recording Device - couldn't Identify the problem.

Stereo mix - troubleshooter made it a default device

Can you see the microphone at Control Panel --> Sound --> Recording tab?

    Sound like problem resolved.

I can see 1 microphone the Realtek(R) Audio and the stereo mix.

But I can't see the headset mic as it's currently muted and the green bar on Realktek(R) Audio Microphone is going up when I speak.

So there must be something wrong.

If you can see the microphone then you have to right click it to make it default device if you cannot see the microphone then either microphone is faulty or device driver is missing.

I want to use the microphone attached to the headset as I just bought the headset but my laptop is still using the built-in mic and the headset mic is not detected.

The name of my headset is Razer Tiamat V2 2.2 and I'm not sure where to find the model number.
