New build, no sound, will not install audio driver - Win10 build 1903

Hi, I have two identical newly built computers, and the onboard sound is not working on one of the two.

Here are the specs for both:

    Gigabyte B450 DS3H motherboard
AMD Ryzen 5 2400G CPU w/Wraith Stealth cooler
G.Skill Ripjaws V F4-3200C16D-16GVGB memory modules, two 8 GB sticks in package (used one module in each computer)
Asus DRW-24F1ST SATA internal DVD burner
Seagate Barracuda ST500DM009 500 GB 7,200 rpm SATA III internal hard drive
EVGA 450 BR 100-BR-0450-K1 power supply
    Rosewill minitower case
    Windows 10 Professional build 1903

All parts and Windows were brand-new, bought from newegg.com

I installed Windows 10 on both computers, then installed the motherboard drivers from the provided disc, then the AMD Radeon Vega graphics drivers (downloaded from AMD's website). Both installations seemed to go normally, but when finished, the onboard sound only works on one of the two computers. The other computer doesn't even recognize that speakers are connected to it at all. I have tried plugging in both headphones and speakers, in both the audio port on the back, and the front headphone jack, but to no avail. I tried running the Windows troubleshooter as well; it didn't fix anything. I have Googled the problem, but can't seem to find a solution.

On the computer that has working sound, the following audio drivers are installed and recognized in the Device Manager:

AMD High Definition Audio Device, Driver Version 10.0.1.10, dated 4/30/2019
Realtek (R) Audio, Driver Version 6.0.1.8597, dated 12/18/2018

On the computer that does not have working sound, only the AMD High Definition Audio Device driver is installed and recognized in the Device Manager. I have tried several times to install the Realtek driver from the motherboard driver disc, and it SEEMS to correctly install, but the Device Manager does not list it, not even after completely uninstalling everything and reinstalling the drivers again. I even blew away the entire Windows installation on that computer, reinstalling it clean, and that made no difference at all.

I am concerned that the one motherboard might have a bad sound chip on it. Can anyone give me a way to test the sound, since Windows doesn't seem to want to recognize the correct driver? And IF it is a bad sound chip on the motherboard, can I fix the problem by simply adding a PCIe sound card to that computer? I really don't want to have to disassemble that entire build.

Hi, for an 'independent' test you might try using a live boot disk.

    E.g.
    Toolkit Item: Kyhi’s Rescue Disk – Win10.Guru

    - or if you wanted to be more truly independent, try a Linux live boot disk.

Presumably the BIOS settings are identical.

Have you accidentally disable onboard audio in the bios?

Good point on the BIOS. If its not enabled and/or not identified in the BIOS, Windows will not detect it.

A CMOS memory (BIOS) reset would be a good start. Most positive way to reset it is (with the Power off) remove the CR2032 coin cell battery on the motherboard for at least 10 minutes. There may be jumpers that are supposed to do this but the battery removal is positive.

New build, no sound, will not install audio driver , it seem like audio chip has spoil.
If all this helps is useless, RMA the mainboard.
