Doesn't the HDMI cable carry the audio, no need for RCA-In ?

    Thanks for reply.
Just using a standard HDMI cable..i thought it be a simple matter...obviously not...there maybe a audio setting somewhere within Windows 10 i've missed or a special HDMI lead needed...or the audio is there but to low for pc speakers to pick up and need boosting up somehow.

".there maybe a audio setting somewhere within Windows 10 i've missed"

Unplug RCA and just use HDMI cable. Open Control Panel/Sound. You should have an source option other than default, like this -

If you can't enable it there, go to Settings/Update & Security/Troubleshoot & run the tool for 'Playing audio'. Good Luck

    Thanks for replying...
Sorted !...did what you suggested..i disconnected my dvd player ...reconnected my pc monitor...reconnected dvd player RCA L/R audio lead and went into Realteck audio manager setting and clicked the 'line input' jack...heard dvd sound..reconnected dvd player to pc monitor..everything is working fine.

I still have to use the RCA audio lead to get audio not just HDMI lead...Now i can watch Skyfall in better quality than my small bedroom tv.

    Problem solved.

    Have a nice night.
