If you have a Dolby receiver, it's called night mode --- which is their "branded" version of loudness equalization. Those branded modes get their twins in the pc app.

You don't download all these separate apps. You install the OEM UAD driver. The inf file in the OEM UAD driver tells the computer that this specific motherboard has properly paid for Sound Blaster Cinema 5, which in terms directs your Microsoft Store to download the Sound Blaster app for you. The process is so easy that you didn't even realize you have this app in the first place.

It's the same process as the Realtek Audio Console.

When I said separate apps I was talking about Equalizer APO and a volume normalizer. You said to use Equalizer APO instead of SB Cinema 5. I didn't know if Equalizer APO had a normalize feature (apparently it does) so then I asked what about a volume normalizer. Then you made a remark about premium audio packages (which I assume aren't free?) having a "night" mode. I guess it's informative that Dolby receiver apps have their own special word for volume normalizing but I didn't understand your point. You want me to download a Dolby receiver app for Realtek drivers?

I didn't realize I had Cinema 5 because my motherboard page doesn't say anything about it. It doesn't say what it is or how to acquire it. It doesn't say that the Realtek Audio Console won't have EQ settings and that EQ and all other advanced features will be found on Cinema 5 which will automatically be downloaded after installing the UAD drivers and SB Connect. If you search around this is a common issue with Asrock motherboard owners. There's constant posts about why the RAC has no EQ settings. We're all confused because Asrock's site doesn't explain anything. Just from the name alone I would have thought SB Cinema was some kind of media player. Don't blame the users when Asrock treats this app as virtually non-existent.

It would take you less than 5 minutes installing the OEM driver, update the Realtek audio UAD driver, the 3 or 4 Realtek software components, the Creative sound blaster software components via MUC and then run Microsoft Store to pull the latest Realtek Audio Console and the latest Sound Blaster app to see if there is a 5/10 band equalizer and see if there is a loudness equalization feature. If you are not familiar with the procedure, read my sticky tutorial.

I diagnosed your problem as having premium UAD package disabling RAC EQ features. You confirmed right away by looking at the motherboard box that you got a premium audio package from sound blaster. You typed soundblaster on the computer and the app showed up and not working. You figured right away that it's not working because you uninstalled the OEM UAD driver and installed HDA driver.

Then you spent hours "researching" the sound blaster app. Why did you have to research anything? Just installed the OEM UAD driver and see if the sound blaster app comes back to life --- and then see if those missing features are in the sound blaster app.

It literally is taking you longer time arguing with me than to just see what happens if you do what I say.

5 minutes now could save you hours later so that you don't have to go all over the internet trying to find the latest modded HDA driver.

I don't want to use Sound Blaster Cinema 5. I thought I already made that clear. So I'm forced to use HDA or UAD with third party EQ app.

If you don't want it, then don't want it, period. You could have left the thread.

Don't write a treatise long justification about not wanting it because your justifications don't make any sense.

You saw screenshots of Cinema 5 from the past, who knows whether Sound Blaster gave in to customer's complaints to give end-users a better 10 band EQ. Since the Cinema 5 app gets updated via MUC software components and Microsoft Store, who knows whether newer app versions have better EQ or not. And we don't know whether updating the software components would give you the chance (very unlikely) to update to Cinema 6.

Because Nahimic 3 didn't have an equalizer at all 2 years ago and end-users kept on complaining about it.

    Security check

Guess what? Nahimic gave in to customer demands and gives them a 10 band EQ.

No technically you are forced to use an unofficial HDA driver (for all we know could be laden with viruses and malware) vs official OEM UAD driver and a well respected EQ app.

So if I don't want SB Cinema 5 I should leave the thread? Why? What are you talking about treatise long justification? I only said I searched for SB Cinema 5 to find reviews or opinions about the program to see if it was good or not. I could barely find anything about it which is not a good sign, and what I could find were bad reviews. Then I see they want you to register an account and sign in just to give full use of an EQ which I think is dumb so I don't even want to attempt to install the program. How is this a treatise?

Aren't the UAD drivers by Mokichu and other people like pal1000 unofficial? Why are those trusted and not the HDA drivers?

I don't know why all this seems to upset you or why you seem so annoyed I won't use SB Cinema 5 or UAD drivers. If you find my choices frustrating then feel free to move on. Thx for your previous advice.

Nahimic 3 didn't have an equalizer when it launched. Now Nahimic 3 has a 10 band equalizer.

    Things changed.

Since you can barely find anything on SB Cinema 5, there is no updated information on whether they improved it or not. You could be basing your entire argument on outdated information. Realtek Audio Console has like a 1 star rating on the Microsoft Store because people could not figure it out that only UAD drivers can download the app.

All unofficial drivers are untrusted by definition.

If you have an OEM UAD driver, there should be no valid reason to use those unofficial UAD drivers because official MUC UAD drivers are merely 3 weeks behind the unofficial drivers on a rolling basis. That 3 week bragging right is not a valid reason.

    I'm going slightly mad

Problems didn't forget about me, my 9137 UAD stopped working after 27 days, then after 2 days, although I got updated ext inf. But I would like to ask something that happened before and I can't understand.

I purchased my MB at the end of 2017, installed Win 10 on the PC built around it at April 2017 and installed HDA 8051, which was then, and is currently, offered as "the latest" audio driver on ASRock site. After almost 4 years, I wanted to update audio drivers and stumbled upon interesting UAD architecture, so I decided to use them. After downloading 20+ UAD packages from ASRock site, I found driver 8750 that can be used to switch my board to UAD.
But it was "way past 2 AM" and I launched setup of 9038 whose ext doesn't support my board. The setup requested reboot, and naturally, there were no extensions, just the driver. But - it worked - although I had no equalizer or sound effects.
At that time I thought cleaning would took a lot of time and postponed it for a month. All that time, the incorrectly half-installed UAD was working perfectly.
But when I used 8750 to create extensions and updated to 9038 properly, it failed with no sound the other day after it was installed.

I upgraded to 9098, but it failed after 2 days, then I installed (then "best sound") 9045 and it failed/no sound right after reboot. Then 9137 was working for 4 days before I got that updated ext inf, but it also eventually failed.

The question is - why 9038 worked flawlessly as incorrectly installed (no extensions) but failed almost instantly when it was installed correctly? I would suspect board's chip or supporting circuitry, but the problems started only when I properly installed my first UAD. Is there a possibility that I'm having a problem with software components?

This is really driving me crazy and would be grateful for any insights. Thanks in advance.

Hello. Which is the most recent Windows Update Catalog FF00 driver? 6.0.9071.1? There may be another one?

Take a look at this 6.0.9107.1. I can't verify right now (I'm not in front of a pc), if it's FF00, but you can download it and take a look.
