9071 HDA/UAD versions may eventually show up on MUC later in 2021

but the older v6.0.9038.1 generic FF00 X64 driver is recently available on MUC (146.0mb cab download) [posted by MS on 1/1/2021]


edit - fwahaha - this is the first person I encountered in another forum that claims to "hate" realtek uad drivers & decided to stick with hda drivers (guess that person had some bad experiences with uad drivers)

edit2 - 9061 & 9066 UAD versions recently available on MUC on New Years Day 2021

Will skip 9071 and stay on the 9057 .................9071 low bass , 9057 nice punchy bass !

Which is an interesting choice, only mentioned here very briefly some time ago with a UAD release and not among the history of generic HDA releases on sites like Necacom. How did they settle on that one?

yea I barely noticed the low bass sound on my Gigabyte board w/ Realtek ALC892 on a secondary HDD using 9071 FF00.
I did not notice this on my other PCs using 9071 FF00 (a Toshiba laptop using ALC269 and an HP desktop PC using ALC888S) as those PCs seem to handle 9071 FF00 okay

it's Realtek who submitted 9038 HDA FF00 directly to MS as no OEM seemed to have the 9038 HDA FF00 driver (and MS has recently made the 9038 FF00 driver available on MUC and WU)

just in - 9067 UAD on MUC

about the older 6.0.9057.1 HDA FF00 and FF01 drivers - I noted this in some other forums:

9057 FF00 was WHQL'ed (MS certified) on November 13, 2020
9057 FF01 was WHQL'ed (MS certified) on November 10, 2020
{check the digital signature date/time stamps on the driver files}

anyone managed to get 6.0.9079.1 pass checks on gigabyte?

I have 6.0.9050.1 installed. It seems to work fine but my driver updater program insists that I should install 6.0.9071.1. When I install it, on opening the Realtek Audio Control program, it reports that it is not compatible with my system. I have an ASUS X299-A II motherboard with no additional sound card and I have Windows 10 Pro 64 bit installed.
Anyone shed any light on where to look for compatibility issues or am I better off sticking with 6.0.9050.1 which works and seems do do all I want?
