this is an FF04 based 8940 HDA x64 driver though - just pointing out the facts as I checked this driver package myself as many INF files included (like HDXRT.inf) have the following entries:

    [IntcAzAudModelAddReg]
    HKR,Settings,EffectComponents,0x00010001,0xFF04
most of my desktop/laptop PCs are using 8967 FF03 HDA while my relative's old Dell Inspiron desktop PC has 8940 FF04 HDA

Recent Realtek drivers are reporting 8 channels when selecting stereo and 6ch modes in the config wizard, has anyone identified the affected range and good driver versions?

Hello all. I have an ASRock x370 Taichi with UAD drivers 6.0.8750.1. These drivers are really old (back from summer 2019), but ASRock doesn't have anything newer than this on its website. Where can I find more up-to-date UAD drivers? Do I have to resort to pal1000's modded drivers?

Alternatively, if I wanted to go back to an HDA FF00 driver (I'm considering this since my UAD drivers don't let you split front and rear audio), how would I know which one to download? When I go to the MUC page and search for the 6.0.8940.1 drivers (I picked this one since people seem to say this currently has the best sound quality), I get this mess: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...x?q=6.0.8940.1

Can you guys tell me what I need to download to update my current 6.0.8856.1 (WHQL) UAD driver on Windows 10 1909 build to match the waiting Windows 10 2004 build update? Was reading last 30 pages and seen people writing about 89xx drivers being better for this new Windows build. I've also seen people recommend 8924 driver so I'd like to stick with it. Current driver 8856 has been downloaded from MUC.

You don't have the latest Windows 10 2004 updated on your PC? I've had it for the last 2 weeks or so and I've simply updated to the latest UAD driver offered on MUC. Everything works and sounds good on my system.

The latest driver offered on MUC is:
    Realtek_UAD_6.0.8967.1

Nope, not yet. I've got a notification about system update for 4 days ago, and thought it's gonna be 2004 build but it wasn't it, it was July 1909 cumulative and NET Framework 3.5 and 4(?) update. Then I've got another cumulative update for 2 days ago and it was another July 1909 update. I'm on 1909 18363.997.

I'd like to prepare and update audio drivers and Realtek UWP app now, and see if everything is working as excepted and if there's a sound improvement as I might update manually to 2004 if Microsoft stuff is lazy and won't give that to me soon.

So, there won't be any problem or missing some files/incompatibility if I just download the 8924, 8945, 8967, or 8975 from MUC, and simply update it in the device manager, and it's gonna be possible to update Realtek UWP app too? Maybe it's a stupid question because I'm not new to updating Realtek drivers, but imo this whole Realtek audio driver thing is madness and a big scrap-heap. I'm a bit confused as I've ended with broken audio driver couple of times before, downloaded wrong files, files haven't matched with something, and it cost me more time and nerves to fix than writing some posts here and ask.

Can I first test 8924, then if I don't like it i switch to 8945, then 8967 and so one?

Yes, you will be able to update the Realtek Audio Console as well. Even if you update to the latest driver provided by MUC, you shouldn't have any problems once you are able to also update to the 2004 build. I had no such problems, hopefully you shouldn't as well.
