Yes i use the latest version of MokiChu driver and i am happy with the sound..

It is just a different packaging. Microsoft just want to separate the actual driver from the control panel app. Microsoft's WHQL testing lab will test the driver only because it is not really Microsoft's responsibility to test whether the equalizer works or not.

For fancy gaming motherboards with loads of extra audio features, it is often difficult to find compatible drivers.

I would find out your motherboard's exact realtek part ID from device manager, write it down. Then go to ASRock's website and find a more current motherboard --- download that newer motherboard's realtek driver, unzip it and look at the setup inf file to see if your motherboard's realtek part ID is in the inf file. The fancier the motherboard, the lesser chance you will find a compatible driver.
