8799 is a very good driver, well balanced, and on massive bass drop breakdowns on songs like Omnivore(Signs Of the Swarm), no distortion anymore, when the drop hits bottom.

Good punch & kick too, and all highs and mids are crisp & clear.

Note my default(go to) Realtek Audio manager settings(I'll stich to HDA drivers until I read that A-volute has fixed the browser sound problem for ASUS):
    Speaker config - Stereo
    Amplify level - extreme(I use a soundbar)
    Environment - carpeted hallway
    EQ - powerful

    Default format - 24 bits @ 48000 Hz

    Thats good news !
    btw ; any UAD-nahimic available..............??
Noticed ; when you disable the "improvements-option " from "room/livingroom, etc. " to none ( nothing selected) , you will get much more punch/bass .............

which one IntelliMoo? 8787 HDA or 8787 UAD?
8787 UAD on my Gigabyte board was pretty good. even better with 8787 UAD + Creative SBX720 UWP on there; no need for me to update to 8799 on the Gigabyte machine.
On some of my other machines I may update them to 8799 HDA
Still always HDA for me. Haven't pushed myself yet to convert to the "unofficial" UAD offerings.

Update the 1st post of this thread, Brink. a generic 8757.1 HDA driver download [111.3mb cab size download] has been made available on MUC (this one functions like FF00). the 8746 HDA 153mb cab download from MUC has been removed from the catalog searches [as in de-listed]

pal1000 has just released build 8804.1 and imo it's slightly better than 8800.

    Hi Guys,

I was using MSI x470 M7 gaming AC (ALC1220), with Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 6.0.1.8619 and Nahimic 2+.

What driver I go for? I'm using pc just for gaming.

Go to MSI, try to find a newer motherboard that has similar hardware (i.e. alc1220) and newer driver (with nahimic 3) and see if it installs.
