#301
Hi, i'm a new member of this forum.
I have a very old pc desktop (hp pavillion, windows 10 pro 64 bit) with Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.8757.1 WHQL FF00 installed.
''Device HWID: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_103C2A6F&REV_1001
Audio CODEC: ALC0888
Realtek Driver Version:
HDA Driver Integration: FF00 - no integration (Generic)''
So, i can install only the old HD audio driver or i can install UAD with the Realtek audio manager from Microsoft store?
Thanks!
My desktop is one I built in 2011. It only supports the ff00 driver as well, and i f I try to use the standard Realtek installer for the UAD driver it does not work.
However, pal1000 maintains a github offering of generic UAD drivers with his custom installer that *does* work on my machine, and would probably work on yours as well.
See Releases . pal1000/Realtek-UAD-generic . GitHub for the releases. I'm currently on 8761, but moving to 8767 today.

you can use either HDA FFxx driver or any of pal1000's UAD drivers.
by the way, Dobermann, hardware ID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_103C2A6F" (HP Benicia board) is listed in the HDXCPCold.INF file of the HDA FFxx driver - I have an old HP Paviliion media center m8417c machine that uses a similar ID > "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_103C2A6C" (HP Narra 3 board), also listed in HDXCPCold.INF.
I'll keep using 8761 UAD my HP m8417c and will wait for at least 8775 UAD or greater.
On the other hand, I have another computer, a custom built PC with a Gigabyte GA78LMT-USB3-R2 board (I sometimes use this one in case my HP machine has problems) that uses HWID "HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182", which is listed in both HDA and UAD drivers but I'll use this specific 8757 UAD Gigabyte driver (not listed on Github because alanfox2000 did not get it)
The GA78LMT-USB3-R2 board is an updated variant of the older GA78LMT boards but has USB 3.1 ports and Realtek ALC892 chipset (made in late 2017)
It seems Realtek has once again slowed down production of the HDA FFxx drivers since the latest generic HDA driver is 8757
