How about "Home grown" then, it's also in use but doesn't get you high ?

As for what is recommended - I've said this a few times already, but it bears repeating. These audio drivers produce different sounds for different people, and different people have different criteria for what they want to hear. For example, some people like the strong bass in certain drivers, while others have said that the very same drivers are too bass heavy. Me, personally, I like clarity and richness of sound first and foremost. I listen to a variety of genres of music, including a lot of things under the umbrella of Rock and under the umbrella of Electronica. I like listening to music at moderate to high volumes. So, clarity is a key - I hate when music gets distorted at low volumes, even if it is a live performance recorded on a crappy cell phone. And I rarely ever listen to music without EQ adjustments (my former settings that I always got mad at because they would get erased upon a new driver install I've now retired - RealTek's Powerful OOB setting is pretty close to how I was setting my own, and it makes life a lot easier when testing drivers instead of taking the time to set the EQ exactly each time, where human error may cause me to slip on a particular freq and thus make a certain driver sound better / worse than it actually does).
But, in the end, it's your call. If you like the HDA over the UAD, use it. None of us is going to get mad at you for doing so, I can promise you that
the two versions shouldnt have different sounds, they should be identical and im saying for me every uad driver i tested is like i have no bass and i checked all settings, the hda version sounds just like my creative audigy se and all is normal. so its not about preference, it just dosent work properly

Of course you dirty mind

Does anyone else get "Could not install. Code: 0x803FB005" when trying to download the Realtek Audio Control app from the MS Store? W10 Pro x64 v1809

stop saying homebrewed lol, you homebrew beer not pc components, its called a custom build where you buy pc parts and assamble it yourself, you have done it for decades yet you dont even know whats it called
Been using the term for far longer than you think I have, thanks.
I brew both but beer tastes better
I wouldn't know - haven't actually tasted my computer. But my guess is, yes, beer definitely tastes much better.

Hate to tell you this, but your comment (quoted above) telling me not to say something I've been saying for 3+ decades is, in and of itself, trolling.

Assuming you have the RealTek UAD driver in place, in the reviews at least one other person has reported the same error code, and 5 more have said that report was helpful.

Yes, it is about preference - if the driver doesn't work the way that you want it to, then it is your preference to choose a driver that *does*.
By contrast, it works very well here - just as well as the recently uninstalled non UAD driver. So, my preference is to keep the UAD driver over the non-UAD. If it did not work / causes me an issue down the road, my preference will be to revert to the non-UAD driver - as my end goal is to have a satisfactorily working driver.

Hey guys, after I updated to 8750, I lost the Headphone Power option in the sound manager. Anyone know of a fix or if I can get it elsewhere?
