8750 HDA is fine on the ALC283 Windows 7. Seems to have reset volume levels quieter, I had to adjust the volume on the speakers, not specific to Windows because I booted into Linux to verify that it was the same there as well. No issues, seems fine to keep, was using 8648 before.

johngalt there is another source on the GitHub maintained by a guy called pal1000. He repackages the Realtek UAD drivers so they can be installed on a non UAD compatible system. I've been trying these out for a couple of months now with great success.

I'm pleased to hear that John, did you install using the command prompt method?
I normally have to run it twice as the first time round it doesn't delete the existing driver.

I installed by double clicking his custom open source installer written as a .cmd Command Shell Script. After I had looked at its contents, that is - so I could follow its process.
It did everything, including uninstalling the regular HDA 8750 install, even though it twice came back with a response of supported device not found while doing everything it was doing.
Didn't even need a reboot, like the regular RealTek installer does (2, in fact). Maybe RealTek could learn a thing or 2 from this guy....
I am super impressed.
In addition, since I had already (once) installed the Microsoft Store version of the RealTek Audio Console, it automagically reinstalled the latest version for me within a minute of everything being done.
And, I got my advanced options retained as well (at the very bottom of the screenshot):

So, yeah, I'm super happy.
And the EQ has the same Powerful OOB setting, too. Everything I need to test future versions.

I'm far more pleased that you mentioned them to me.
Upon a reboot, I got a message from WinX with a boot menu, asking me if I wanted to do various things, like enter safe mode, disable driver certification, etc. - I didn't make a note of it because it could either be this driver install, or it could be the new WinX IP build. I'll explore it later on.
One other thing - with the standard RealTek drivers, if I lowered the inline volume on my headset, it would get to a certain threshold and then completely turn off, well before I reached the end of the roller. This was annoying at times. With these UAD drivers in place, it continues to scale down the volume, but at the minimum setting on the volume roller, it's still outputting audio, albeit at a very diminished volume, so I have to almost strain to hear it - but it is still there.
Found that little tidbit interesting, to say the least.

Wow, I completely concur! Seems everything (especially the bass) is even more distinct with 8750 over 8746.
Wait which one is that? I only see is 6.0.8703.1

Homebrewed - yes, I built it myself, as I have all my machines for decades now (of course, I also use them for decades, so it's not that many machines). Yeah, that's why I mentioned my eVGA mobo - there was no custom branding on their stuff, when installing drivers, even with their GPUs - only custom branding was on their own software, like the E-LEEt software, the Precision OC / X1 / PrecisionX software, etc.
