i see a lot of driver version preferences around here..why would different versions have different sound quality? do you test these on speakers?
i decided i want to build a new pc so i will finaly leave my creative audigy se soundcard in the past...the card is like from 2005 but still worked excelent...
i decided to use the onboard now and to my surprise it sounds just as good as the creative one, the creative one had crystalizer which increased the lower tones a bit but with it disabled it sounds the same, my onboard has alc 887 and for the future build ill try to find a motherboard with a better spec alc chip
i firstly used the uad version but i dont have enough bass with them but with hda it sounds normal. anyone else has this issue? they should sound the same right?
i also tried moded drivers from another forum which had dolby and creative and nahmic but all sound muffled
Hi,
I had the same audigy card and it went straight to the bin always problems with it no good bass etc, now i use the onboard one and everything is ok.
But tbh there are more guys in this forum who can you help you with it , i only use it for gaming.
There are good Music experts here ,so in short i hear no much difference with some drivers but i dont listen music on my computer i have my Yamaha htr-4072 av-sound reciever for that .

had no problems with the audigy card, i always used daniel k modded driver which is a bit better than stock and transformed it into creative xtreme music, i also use it mostly with games and movies with a pair of logitech x530 5.1 speakers.
in vista or windows 7 i think they dropped audio hardware accelerator which made the card kinda useless but i still kept it
from all the drivers the generic ones work the best, i just dont know why the uad version has less bass, like driver is corupted. also home come the size differences between hda and uad is so big
For the 8750, there is only one pkg that is not explicitly named UAD - and it happens to be an FF00 pkg (which is what my system is supposed to be - ff00, non UAD).
DLing now.
Well if anyone has a car subwoofer hooked up to their PC don't update to the latest driver. Now my sub barely even moves like it did on the previous version! Could someone link me to the download for the previous version to the latest?
Thanks
For stuff from the M$ Catalog, see the first post: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version [2]
For stuff pkgd by AlanFox2000 and maintained at GitHub, see Releases . alanfox2000/realtek-hda-release . GitHub and scroll through the list for the driver you want.
For OEM specific drivers, you'll need to visit your OEM specific drivers page.
@johngalt there is another source on the GitHub maintained by a guy called pal1000. He repackages the Realtek UAD drivers so they can be installed on a non UAD compatible system. I've been trying these out for a couple of months now with great success.
