Hi again guys. Could you help me with a link to 8734 drivers designed to work with my system? I've downloaded and installed Unofficial-Realtek-UAD-Generic-8734 from this post, run Setup.bat as an administrator, a cmd prompt opened with text "press any key to restart and continue" , but after restart, I still have older 8666 drivers. Realtek Audio Panel UWP app isn't working now... it starts into splash menu, loading something about 4-5 minutes and then a message appear about failing to connect to RPC service.

I've originally installed ASUS drivers from ASUS X470 STRIX F-Gaming product site with Sonic Radar 3, Sonic Studio 3 and Realtek Control Panel UWP apps included.

IMO 8742 is not as good as 8734. I'm currently trying out 8744 which sound pretty much the same as 8734 but possibly a bit smoother.
    Link?

Hey guys, can anyone recommend me a good stable UAD for an old Gigabyte X58A UD3R board? I've tried a couple but keep getting freezing/crashing issues. I can go back and use DJ Urkos Realtek drivers as that has been working for me but just curious if there is one for the said system. Thanks

Mike I've been using the FiiO E07k for more than 5 years now. Superb sound, but it's starting to show its age and I'm about to go for the new Audioquest Dragonfly.
These are USB DAC/Amps, so don't really care for Realtek drivers when I listen to serious music via my Senn and Sony cans!

I think that main problem lies in headphones' impedance. older MBs could handle only low impedance (about 8 Ohms) headphones while HiFi headphones have high impedance because of piezo crystals and/or capacitor activators. I used to be disk jokey in late '60s, early '70s and had similar problems with equipment even then. It may have been even worse then, a 1000w amp can amplify every mistake.
