If you have time to mess around(make a system image) go into an install folder and do not use the setup.exe and find all the .inf files and right click to install only them, and see if that works for your case(check in device manager).
in my case with UAD it would be:

Since your working driver is 8710_FF00, unzip/unrar the "8734_FF00_FF04_PG473_Win10_RS5_19H1_WHQL.rar" and just use the 8734_FF00_PG473_Win10_RS5_19H1_WHQL folder, which is the Generic one, similar to the one you already use.
The other folder (8734_FF04_PG473_Win10_RS5_19H1_WHQL) is for PCs (usually hp ones) with CXAPO (Conexant) integration which you don't need and you can delete if you wish.

To update, go to to device manager and point for the new driver to the 8734_FF00_PG473_Win10_RS5_19H1_WHQL folder, or from within this folder run the setup program and you're good!

No, you (or anybody else for the same reason) won't be screwed at all.
Your only problem will be that you won't have the latest Realtek driver (so what...), but you'll have a working audio device using your current HDA driver.

Just like you, I can't install UAD drivers, they're not made for my audio device.
For my audio device, both HP (the manufacturer of my laptop) and Microsoft, reccommend 6.0.1.7944 (Sep. 2016), which is working very well. I manually installed the HDA 6.0.1.8648, which is absolutely great, but my device could work well with the older one too.
So don't get crazy with UAD drivers!

When you get time to mess around, you can always try what I told CountMike above about trying the .inf files, but instead of from a HDA try the UAD ones(only for Realtek audio and not the enhancer software part or OEM extension portion).
