I've been trying out 8792.1 today. After several hours of listening for me 8787.1 is still the king.

Hearing occasional buzz while watching YouTube

I have noticed something and tested it both ways:

If you have "Turn on fast startup" selected in power options(Control Panel), you will might an occasional buzz while watching YouTube or other streaming channels.

I have had it turned off(to keep writes down on my M.2 NVMe SSD) for the last few months, and noticed no more buzzes/sound farts, and for the heck of it, turned it on this morning, shut down my PC to go shopping, and the started my PC when I got back, now the occasional buzz is back.

I'm betting it's because the system is completely reinitialized with a cold boot that the buzz/sound farts are gone, but with Fast startup on, because of the driver init and last status being read from the hiberfile the timing(clocks) are thrown off, causing the driver to stutter from bad delivery latency.

So if you are experiencing crackling, popping or audio stutter and have "Fast Startup" turned on, try turning it off.

MoKiChU(The ROG Forums driver god(he post updates/creates all types of drivers by injecting the ASUS data for them)) hasn't posted the Realtek 8791 driver yet on ROG forums, so I don't have it.

Anyone know if the Loudness Equalization setting is improved in 8787.1? I'm using 8781 and Loudness Equalization doesn't seem to have any effect with certain programs or seems imbalanced. For example in Steam when I get a pm from someone it is super loud compared to everything else. I can't lower the volume for the Steam program in Volume Mixer either because each Steam user has its own column so I would have to adjust it for every user.

The driver itself sounds really good but I feel the Loudness Equalization setting is the weak point in these drivers.

Also can we get an option to save/export our EQ settings so we don't have to redo them EVERYTIME we install new drivers? Seriously this has been going on since I built my last pc back in 2012. Is it that impossible to do?

Have you tried virtual cable to split the voice chat and do loudness eq separately from the game?

My experience is that nobody knows how to set up their microphone so everybody is complaining about the low mic volume. So your friend who is super loud may be the only person who have set up his mic correctly.

I'm not talking about voice chat I'm talking about receiving private messages in Steam. It pops up a chat window and I get the notification sound and it's really loud.

But what is a virtual cable? I'm intrigued by this.
