    Hi guys,

I'm new here, and I wanted to see if I can get any help.
I recently purchased a pair of Edifier boxes model R1280DB.
They are connected via optical cable.
    Everything normal, working.

What I found strange, is when I put the following output format:
2 channel, 24 bit, 192000 Hz (Studio Quality)
And the sound just doesn't work anymore.

    It works leaving only on:
2 channel, 24 bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)

I know that there is not much difference in audio quality between the two configurations.
But I use software that requires this 2 channel, 24 bit, 192000 Hz setup (Studio Quality)

I tried to update the BIOS (even though it wouldn't work)
And I reinstalled my Audio driver, which would be: Realtek audio driver V6.0.8971.1

If you have a light, how to help me with this little problem, I would be very happy!

    Thanks guys

    Hi,

Whichever drivers you use this will not solve your issue since the root cause is in your audio equipment (Edifier R1280DB) :

From the Edifier R1280DB manual :

But anyway, if you want use more recent drivers :

You have an ASUS PRIME Realtek motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME RTK MB) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.
Thank you friend for helping me!

9045.1 and 8867.1 are still the best over all sounding versions.
They come as close to HDMI passthrough(both on Intel and Nvidia graphics card outputs).
Hmm I wonder how I would be able to try 9045.1 if I am currently running 8924.1 UAD...

Curious to hear if there is any audible difference in quality.

Still unsure of how to get it installed... someone said 8996.1 is a good one to try as well.

Create a folder and name it AudioUpdate and within that folder create two subfolders.
    1. Realtek driver
    2. Realtek SoftwareComponents

Download and extract to the folder "Realtek driver" the Base driver 6.0.9045.1

Then download and extract to the "Realtek SoftwareComponents" folder the Realtek Audio Effects Component 11.0.6000.826

Then open Device Manager and update each one of the following 4 devices:
    1. Realtek (R) Audio
      and the Software Components
    2. Realtek Audio Effects Component
    3. Realtek Audio Universal Service
    4. Realtek Hardware Support Application

by selecting "Browse my computer for drivers", pointing to the folder "AudioUpdate" (don't forget to check "Include subfolders").
Device Manager will find the corresponding inf file for each audio component and will update it.

There are about 30-40 UAD driver updates between 8924 and 9091 in Microsoft Update Catalog. Just follow the sticky tutorial.

You can try all of them and you won't hear any difference.
