The Realtek DCH (UAD) driver is a separate update from the Realtek Audio Control app.
If someone wants to update both, then he needs to download both the updated driver and the 'Realtek Hardware Support Application' Software component. By doing so, there is no need to search for the Audio control app in the MS store. It will be automatically downloaded upon completion of the update.
And a final note, for information reasons:
The Software component you download from MUC it will update all three required components:
- Realtek Audio Effects Component
- Realtek Audio Universal Service
- Realtek Hardware Support Application
Is not right if you use DDU before, because DDU erase every leftover.
This is what happens when, after erase driver with DDU we try to update usig MUC cab
I update Realtek driver usig CAB but as you can see there aren't Realtek items on software component so you can not have RAC on your system.
I have to use Microsoft Update to detect Realtek HW, Microsoft download a so called "Realtek Extension"
Only when this extensions is installed there are the 3 items on the system [*]Realtek Audio Effects Component[*]Realtek Audio Universal Service[*]Realtek Hardware Support Application
But they are for older driver 6.0.9061.1 that was Realtek driver Microsoft decetc for my system, if I try to update those 3 software component using new cab 6.0.9071.1 system refuse to update telleing me I have newer driver on my system.
Conclusion: using DDU sendyt tutorial to update using MUC cab is not 100% right, you don't have RAC since Microsoft Update detecd and download it and you can't update the 3 software components using cab file, the 3 items remains older
Yes probably is a case by case, every HW is a new story. I solved using Microsoft Troubleshooter app to hide all realtek driver to be updated and so I can use PAL driver as usual and not overwrited by Microsoft. Is the easy way to get Realtek new driver IMHO
You diverged from my tutorial.
My tutorial is very specific --- it is for people with official OEM drivers --- which you have.
HUAWEI MateBook D (14 AMD): manuals,FAQs,software download | HUAWEI Support Global
If you had installed PAL1000 driver before then you should had DDU your system, and then you install the OEM 8804 driver (which contains the 3 realtek software components). ONLY AFTER you intalled your OEM 8804 driver, you MUC update.
And once you officially migrated back to official OEM drivers, you stay in official OEM driver world, you don't go back to unofficial PAL 1000 updates.
When selecting the type of device that has been plugged in for Headphones I can choose between Auto, In-Earphones and Headphones.
I don't suppose anyone knows what is actually happening under the hood when choosing either option?
With the Headphones setting there seems to be more bass or maybe it just sounds muffled? I'm not sure.
Thanks for any help or info.
Ok heads up for every one that has a newer ASUS mobo and uses MoKiChU's UAD Realtek driver updates..
