Pretty good on 9030 too , in fact I think I will keep 9030 as it seems to be the 1st one (for me) in the 9000 Series comparable to 8648 which I've kept returning too. ( no 9045 yet on Asus HDA)

    * some of Meena Cryle's other songs are pretty good too ...thanks...

Since I installed the HP provided 6.0.8971.1 (DCH), I haven't found one of the subsequent drivers better than this one.
Clear sound, good bass, excellent separation and depth.
But... as I trust Cliff's judgment on audio drivers, I'll wait to try the 9045, whenever it becomes available from MUC.

    * And yes that's a great song!!!

Ahhhh there is just something about vinyl
And it's called "a wider sound stage".
Digital recordings of non digital instruments, is just too tight and compressed and doesn't sound natural, or live like.

I totally agree Cliff, however systems which do justice to well recorded vinyl don't come cheap. I remember many years ago lisatening to a Linn/Naim system which weighed in at Ł60,00. Best sound I've ever heard but I can only dream

    Thanks for the link.
By default the driver also shows no speaker fill option.
But I have a found way to get it back, at least for my device :>
    My soundcard's hardware is: VEN_10EC&DEV_0889&SUBSYS_1043846B
Which usually can be found in HDAMB2O.inf of the realtek driver.
Driver: 8838 has this file and working Speaker Fill.
Driver: 8819 doesn't have this file, instead it uses HDXRT.inf but also working Speaker Fill.
Driver: 9000.1 has this file but none working Speaker Fill.

    HDAMB2O.inf references VEN_10EC&DEV_0889&SUBSYS_1043846B
    HDXRT.inf references VEN_10EC&DEV_0889

So HDXRT.inf is the more generic Realtek driver.

I think, Realtek removed Speaker Fill from HDAMB2O.inf (and maybe other "sub" infs) and some point.
But when installing 9000.1 (and maybe other newer drivers) and choosing the more generic HDXRT.inf, the Speaker Fill option is back.

When you manually select inf in Device Manager, Windows will show two devices, you have to find the one that gives a warning message when installing (Not save to install ....).
    Install it anyway.

I also noticed in the options of the sound device, it does show the Realtek logo now.
And the Realtek Control panel is installed.
(When choosing the HDAMB2O.inf or letting windows auto find the driver the control panel is not installed)

And when using DriverStoreExplorer, the drivers also differ in size.
    HDAMB2O.inf is around ~ 120 mb
    HDXRT.inf is around ~ 330 mb
