Excuse my ignorance in the matter, but could someone explain to me the difference between HDA UAD drivers and UAD drivers? Gracias.

I installed the latest, as I have a clean system to play with. I'll probably not be able to do a thorough sound test comparison for another week. To me, it seems as if 62 is ... "amped" ... over previous versions, I, for the second time in using the same headsets and listening to the same music, had to run the volume down, and I noticed distinct audial artifacting (not speakers crackling, but actual audio effects) that I've never heard from the same music I listened to last week. And last month. And last year. And in the last decade. I think this might be a very different way of saying exactly the same thing as you're saying though.
However, until I am 100% sure my hardware is not failing, I'm not ready to blame the driver. Yet. I've been having all sorts of other issue with the system, hence the clean install so right now my focus is getting everything worknig again, then getting everything installed, and finally I'll go back to tweaking.
I don't think there is - Not sure why he writes it like that because here we've always said UAD vs HDA to differentiate the UAD from the non UAD.
I just copied from his site, without thinking, normally I actually write UAD for UAD and HDA for non-UAD. So, that is on me, sorry.
So I just installed the latest 6.0.8762.1 drivers from pal1000 on my laptop yet when I check in device manager it still says I am running 6.0.1.8612 from 1/8/19.
Is there some step I am missing or something? I tried installing it the "custom" way and the official installer and I get the same result
I tried to install 8761 from pal1000 on a clean install of 1903 - it would start and immediately force a reboot of the machine. I suspect something was not right with the 1903, though, so I've cleanly installed it again.
I'm also making a new .ISO of 18945, which I will soon upgrade to, and at which point I should, hopefully, be ready to take another stab at installing 8761 UAD.
I just checked in Device manager, and as I just cleanly installed 1903, then installed the Skip Ahead Insiders Preview build 18945 on top of that, the system had the default M$ drivers.
I used Pal1000's 8761 driver, and it then caused my system to grab and install the RealTek Audio Console (which only works with the UAD drivers). Device Manager shows the same Windows drivers I had before, but the RealTek Audio Console app shows 8761.
Hey all,
Just wanted to make a post thanking you, as this has been a real pain in the butt since the release of 1903.
Also, did a bit of digging and it seems there is a new version out that is compatible with the Realtek Audio Console, version 6.0.8734.1. [https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...x?q=6.0.8734.1] Which I can confirm does work!
