Hey, finally a realtek Thread in an forum. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME, SO PLEASE ANSWER :):

I have purcahsed a lot of new pc hardware (complete new pc) and first I tried a Asus Z390-F (2 times) and now a Asus Hero Maximus XI. I have generally mic Probs (3,5 jack) on front panel with that computer and I KNOW its the Board, soundchip or driver). I already tested different mainboards (as u see), different cases with front panels on that computer, have 3 3,5 jack mics, tried 2 PSUs, with and without GPU, all front panel cables disconnected, some drivers, bios update and 2 fresh windows 10 installs with latest updates.
The problem is like this: putting a 3,5jack mic on the back works just fine. putting in on front jack gives either just constant static noise (windows own drivers) or drops the recordvolume after a few seconds (asus drivers (8666 at the end).
    Anyone got the same problem?

8867 sounds great, and nicely tuned down the bass again (which some prefer).

Seems contender to end the year at "best of" - but there's still 4 days left! ha

That's mostly caused by bad or improperly shielded cables from MB to front of the case.

Usually yes, but not in this case. As I said I used different cases. They work fine with other mainboards but not with the z390er Asus Boards.

Hey all... Anyone running generic HDA FF00 8862 driver? Is it worth upgrading from FF00 8821?

I am running it and find it to be a very good driver. I never used 8821, so can't comment on that, but 8862 is solid and staying on my rig until I hear about some new magic driver that makes 128 kb/s MP3s sound like glorious front row, live seats.

    I got mine from https://github.com/alanfox2000/realt..._Win7_WHQL.zip

Hey all, can someone tell me which realtek driver should I install from alanfox2000 ? Got a Z270 Tomahawk and there are 3 Versions (Creative, Nahimic or RTK). The 8862.1 seems to be pretty good after the comments here.

perhaps none of the above. Original Realtek audio drivers for an MSI Z270 Tomahawk board are HDA (non-UAD) drivers.
use generic 8862 FF00 HDA driver from alanfox2000's Realtek HDA github page.

what is the hardware ID number of the Realtek High Definition Audio device on the Z270 Tomahawk board?
use this site on how to gather that info:
How to Find Hardware ID: 9 Steps (with Pictures) - wikiHow

after posting the hardware ID, maybe I will tell you if it can use a UAD driver instead of an HDA driver, depending on the HWID

Yep, and I see no reference to "Nahimic" so maybe you are lucky and avoided that garbage! You should be able to use the generic Realtek HDA version and have full Enhancement tab without any third party addon nonsense.

    Direct link to Alanfox's 8862 F000 HDA driver: https://github.com/alanfox2000/realtek-hda-release/releases/download/6.0.8862.1/8862_FF00_PG474_Win10_RS3_RS4_RS5_19H1_Win7_WHQL.zip
