Manually setting it for each headset, doesn't stick after changing them?

    Hi all,

New member here. I installed "Realtek HD Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3) - Latest version [05/12/2019]" on my ROG laptop, but my realtek audio control don't have ROG logo like the attached picture. Did i missing some installation step(s)?

All i did just double click the setup.exe as usual, is it correct?

    Thx in advance

Maybe your Strix laptop gets a different skin version than a Maximus X Hero?
Kind of like how UEFI/BIOS gets different skins, even though both are ROG.

Trouble with ASUS X299-E Gaming / Realtek Driver

    Hey guys,

    so, long story "short":
I've got some issues with those latest UAD drivers (6.0.1.88xx). I'm also in contact with the ASUS Support but they cannot reproduce my problem. Currently running Windows 10 1909 Build 18363.476, but also occurred on earlier versions of Windows 10.

I even made a video and posted it on Youtube, explaining the problem:

Has anyone here ever seen something like that?
If so, what could be the problem?

Thank you all in advance and keep up the good work here.

    Greetings from Germany.

Why doesn't Realtek release newer driver after R2.82 ?
They haven't dealt with the Public for 2-3 years at least and only supply Drivers to Manufacturers and OEMs these days or to Microsoft to be updated via Windows Update.

Can your computer use the Windows Store App ? ie is using UAD Drivers , not the HDA version ?

    Hi from Bamberg Spagettifritz
I just tested it, and nothing happens like on your system.
Does this happen with a headset?
How about with all microphones unplugged/turned off(maybe a feedback loop?)

The 180 MB might be UAD drivers with the UWP audio controller, SonicStudio and sonic radar.
The 700MB is probably "classic" HDA drivers.
    I'm running 8851 UAD.
If you're already using UAD you can install over the old ones no problem. But if you're using HDA, you'll need to do a clean install too get the UAD ones to work.(instruction in my Sway: Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version [2]
If you are using UAD also after install go to the store and check for updates (Audio control & Sonic Studio)

    Hi Cliff,

this issue occurs with a 5.1 surround sound system as well as with any other plugged in device (each separately, not all at once)
I also tested it with all microphones (headset mic, webcam, etc.) unplugged, so this cannot be a feedback loop.
I cannot remember exactly but I think it started with a driver version like 6.0.1.88xx... calculating back it might be something between 8820 and 8830 when it started with this issue.
Every older driver was OK (I guess).

Not that some think I'm sticking around this one problem...
It's about much more than that. The problem shown in the video is just one of several ways I can show the error (this crackling sound) and how it can be reproduced most easily.
I think that the WASAPI interface is not addressed correctly because a softphone (Linphone) on my computer produces similar sounds when playing the sound for an incoming call. According to the settings of this program, the speakers of my system are addressed via WASAPI.
I always noticed the problem in connection with the WASAPI interface. But this could also be total rubbish. So don't take my word for it.

(As stated in the forum rules, I will simply continue to write in English, even though you might be German )
