Hi, sorry for my bad English. I have a problem with Realtek drivers. I have installed the drivers "HDA R2.8x 8531 WHQL" downloaded from site driver-station. These drivers are now a year old, but they are the only ones my mic works with.
I have an integrated sound card (ALC1220) in my Gigabyte motherboard and an headset with mic (HyperX Cloud Alpha).
My problem is that with all subsequent drivers, from 8549 to 8816 the volume of my microphone is very low, like a whisper.
I have always done clean installations but nothing, the only drivers with which the microphone works are the 8531.
I have also tried to change the microphone (Neewer NW-800) but nothing. I have also tried to use the Gigabyte site drivers but the problem of the mircophone persists. Very very low volume.
Does anyone know how I could solve it?
Thanks
This one is a special Gigabyte audio jack service, Destinyg133 - only certain Gigabyte boards with these specific hardware IDs can actually use this (mentioned in the GigabyteAJSExt.inf extension INF file):
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_1220&SUBSYS_1458A0C0
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_1220&SUBSYS_1458A0C7
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_1220&SUBSYS_1458A0CB
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_1220&SUBSYS_1458A0D1
My gigabyte board does not use a Realtek ALC1220 chip - it uses ALC892 (part of the hardware device ID begins with DEV_0892) so GigabyteAJSExt does not get installed & it is not really needed for my board.
Totally happy with 8854 UAD WHQL on my Gigabyte board (slightly stronger bass w/ 8854 than with 8835 ), unlike with Cliff S who went back to 8851.
note: UAD Gigabyte drivers don't get produced as often as UAD ASUS & UAD MSI drivers
