    Microphone Issue

I started having a problem with my microphone about a month ago, basically the only microphone that works is the built-in one(i have a laptop), if i connect any microphone, the pc doesn't receive any audio from it, and it turns off the built in one. that means if I e.g. want to play a game with a friend, I have to have the audio coming from the built in reproductors in order to be able to use the microphone, which means the words they say also are heard by the microphone and it's really annoying. any tips pls?

Hi PingleSlayer420. Welcome to the TenForums @PingleSlayer420

What sound adapter /card do you have?

If realtec there should be a realtec audion manger in the Notification area. Is it recognizing the plug in mic?

If you right click the speaker icon in the notification area and the Open Sound Settings what is listed as your Input Device?

As well there is advance sound options below that that should be explored

Maybe you need to check the permissions of other microphones and your pc ?
