    Problem with Mp3 files

I have created a playlist of 15 Mp3 files to play in numerical order (1-15).However when I put them on a USB stick
to play in a Mp3 player, they only play at random,do I need to put some other information other than just the song
name for them to play as I want?

Playback order should be controlled by menu settings within the playback unit itself, not the stick and not the mp3 file.

You might try removing all existing tags from those 15 files and then making new tags. You need to find the setting in the player that will force playback in numerical order.

It is possible that your player cannot read numerical tags. If it can read only artist's name or title, perhaps you would need to do some renaming to force the order you want.

Your player could be defective as well. I'd try to play the songs in multiple players, just to see what happens.

Thankyou for your reply, the Mp3 player is actually built into a PA amplifier/mixing deck.I have found
another playlist of an artiste with no numerical markings and this plays in the correct order,so I will try
deleting the numbers from my playlist and se what happens.

MP3 files can have an index number. You'll be able to see it & change it in File explorer as long as you are in a Details view [right click on any column header & add the column header #].

I vaguely recall having an mp3 player once that did not understand index numbers so I had to rename all tracks 01 ***, 02 ***, etc

You might have taken these steps already but I was not quite sure from your remarks.

If it remains a problem, do note what sequence they are playing in without any # or 01 *** etc Is it alphanumerical order? Date last modified order?

You could try putting a number at the beginning of each file like 01-track.mp3, 02-track.mp3 etc.
