I deleted something I shouldnt have. Help.

So I was getting really upset with a stupid driver (Realtek Audio) about a year back, and was looking for a way to remove it. Since it kept redownloading itself whenever I updated windows I looked for a permanent solution. Big mistake. I followed these instructions from another forum

***Here's a way of removing it the way you're wanting to.

With Realtek still installed go to the task manager and find "Realtek Audio Driver" ("Rltk" or look for their speaker emblem) on the list of applications.

Then open the application's properties and go the Security Tab and click the Advanced button near the bottom.

From there you'll want to remove everything from that list (it removes all permissions from Realtek Audio).

Then uninstall the Realtek Audio Driver from the Add or Remove Programs menu or the Device Manager.

Now, when you restart your PC, it will not have permission to reinstall itself and Windows should activate their default audio driver to replace it.***

My audio worked for a while but it definitely was a dumb Idea. I tried redownloading the drivers myself, but it seems I cant. When I go to control panel > audio devices and try to update my drivers, it only says access denied. Is there something I can do so that I can redownload these drivers?

Rename your original post [you can click on the Edit post control just under it].

Call it something like this to attract the attention of others with skills in this area
Delete a file from which I have removed all permissions
