re: a sound problem with YouTube

This is on my Dell Inspiron 15-3541 laptop. OS (I just installed the OS clean about a week ago) Win 10 Home 64bit. On YouTube I am getting a random, intermittent interference in that the sound is normal in stereo, then the sound drops in volume, goes from stereo to monaural sound then there is a buzz in the sound then back to normal. This only happens on the live sound out part of like a movie. The video is fine all the time. Now if I download the same movie via the YouTube downloader to my HDD, the sound is fine. But if I screen capture the movie via a prog called "RePlay Video Capture" the sound problem is in the recording. No local game sounds are effected. I have never played any online games on this laptop before. I have never had this kind of a sound problem on this laptop with Win 8.0 (that it came with) and Win 7 Home both 32 and 64 bit I. The buzz almost sounds like a bad grounding capacitor or a bad staging capacitor between the audio pre-amp and the power amp.

Do you have the Dell supplied Realtek audio driver installed? If not, that is the first step.
DELL DRIVERS

There have been reports of audio trouble with on-line audio. There can be several causes but one is Wi-Fi. Also download the Wi-Fi driver from the Dell downloads.

You can also download and run the free Resplendence Latency Mon program. May help pinpoint the problem.

I wouldn't think its a bad cap (hardware) as it would do it all the time, not just on specific operations (on line streaming audio).

The Resplendence Latency Mon is running right now. It is already finding problems. I will post the final report as soon as it is done. Also the sound drivers are the Win 10 default drivers. I have never had to install the Dell laptop audio drivers for this laptop because I never had an audio problem until I installed Win 10 Home 64bit.

I now have a new problem with the Dell laptop. I am typing this post on my cell phone because both the built-in keyboard and the wireless keyboard are dead. The mouse still works. I can type in the Win password at start up but the keys freeze up after desktop is up. This started while "Resplendence Latency Mon" was running in the background. I was typing something else and I froze while holding a key down and the sticky key box popped up. I clicked yes and the keyboard froze up. The mouse still works. Also the keyboard is frozen in safe mode, both the internal and wireless. How do I fix this?

When you sort out your input issues, I strongly recommend you go straight to Dell site and get Win10 x64 drivers for all your hardware bits. Drivers are crucial, and they are usually specific to OS and bittedness.

Microsoft drivers can work as a last resort, but much better to get them from the equipment makers.

I found out after pulling the battery and letting the laptop sit for an hour. Then doing a cold re-boot. The keyboard is responding, but very slowly, it takes almost a half second of holding the key down before the corasponding letter to show up on the screen. I am going to pull the main battery again and let the laptop sit that way over night then see what happens in the morning.

7 is out of normal service now, so consider carefully.

I think 7 was MS's best ever Windows, but I wouldn't dream of going back to it. 10 combines 7's & 8's best features.

well the laptop is back up and running. The keyboard still works at normal speed when typing in Win password. But the keyboard is still very slow in responding after desktop is up and running. I can't even play a game that requires keyboard input because of the slow response time. I think it has something to with the sticky keyboard thing. This all started when the sticky keyboard window opened up and I clicked on yes.

Lugh. ur latest post isn't showing up on my end in Firefox. I got the email notification of the post. I am going to try a dif browser to see if I can see the post. Will the recovery cd that I made help?

Update The keyboard problem is solved. The keyboard is back to normal operating conduction. Some how the filter key was turned on. Now that the keyboard problem is solved. We can get back to the original problem.

Callender. What post #23 in this thread? The highest post number that I see is your #8. Something isn't right here in Firefox. I am going to copy the link for this post and past it into IE and see if the same thing happens.

I see post #9 that I just made in all 3 browsers Firefox, IE and Chrome and that's it. No higher post numbers at all.
PS: I just installed the latest version of Chrome.
