External Notebook speakers do not work anymore

Since the last update or so to my external Bose speakers plugged in in the ear phones output in the Acer Aspire E 15 (Acer E5-573) do not work anymore. The ear phones do work.

I have deinstalled and reinstalled the Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.7553_W10x64_A from here
    Produkt-Support
    Without success.
After deinstalling the driver and restarting the Notebook the hum of the spekers before now was gone and there was a new, third item in the Sound window for the ear phones, if I remember it correctly. After installing the above driver again and restarting the Notebook it has disappeared and the hum was sounding again:
    .

What can I do to make the active speakres work again?

Your Default Audio output is VSX-830 which is for audio out of an HDMI cable to your TV. Right Click lautsprecher Realtech Audio and make it as Default

Thank you. Yes, would be very easy, but it does not work.

When I plug in the ear phones or some time ago the speakers they automatically start(ed) sounding.

that v6.0.1.7553 driver is old. win10 may silently/quietly update the realtek audio driver to a newer version

I happen to find a newer driver from Acer though it's for a vastly different model - v6.0.1.8555.
try that one and see if it works.

How could I check whether Win has installed a new one?

Thank you very much for the link. Is there any risk of trying this driver? Because it is for a different model?
