I just looked at the mat video. On my laptop the volume icon is on the lower left hand corner.

I just found this video that says the problem may be with a setting in your audio card and not the sound setting. Let me know if this helps. Fix Some YouTube Videos Have No Sound - YouTube
I looked at that and everything is set fine, I dont have realtek hardware for sound.
All it says is this in device manager.
I dual boot this PC with ubuntu, and the sound plays fine on those videos. I wonder what it is especially for the weather channel videos not having sound, all where a reporter talks have no sound, but very few youtube videos have no sound. So far all news channels have sound, netflix has sound. Got to be someway they are coding the sound that my system cant decode it.
In App volume and device preferences, I hit the reset to Microsoft recommended defaults, and sound works on weather.com,
Right click sound icon, select sounds, under sound, select advanced sound options to get that screen.
But it did not work.
In chrome try disabling chrome://flags/#enable-tab-audio-muting
Enable or Disable Tab Audio Muting in Google Chrome | Tutorials
Also search chrome://flags
Type sound then check through any settings.
Funniest thing, I load Edge with this url, I hear the ad, then I hear the reporter speaking in the weather video.
Then I hear an ad, then it loads next weather.com video and it is totally silent.
Next no add plays, then next weather.com video I hear sound, and next weather.com video plays sound.
Next it plays an ad, I hear sound, then next weather.com video no sound plays.
Next an ad plays, I hear sound, next weather.com video plays and no sound.

DeeZee Truck Bed Mats Review - 2019 Ram 1500 Classic - etrailer.com - YouTube
This video I downloaded from youtube.
Now get this, If I play this in WMP, I hear no sound.
If I play this in VLC, I hear the sound.
The audio codec is mp4a
So maybe the pc cant play mp4a audio?
I need to download a working video where I hear sound and compare the audio codec.
Well, that did not help. I downloaded a different youtube video that plays sound, and it plays in wmp and vlc, and the audio codec is showing the same info, bit rate everything.
edit, I DID find a difference. WMP says it is 1 channel audio, for the nonplaying video.
The playing video says 2 channel.
So does this help figure things out?
AND VLC can play a right and left channel, so it seems to be stereo, yet WMP says 1 channel audio, so is this a bug?
